Project Procedure
Before our first meeting you will receive an email with an attachment with instructions. These instructions explain the information you need to gather before the meeting so that we can discuss the project in an efficient way.
In order to start with the website development process we will need some information from you. The procedure for developing a website that will fit your needs is divided into 4 stages.
Before the first meeting we need you to read Stage 1 carefully and to provide as much information as you can. If you find some terms you do not recognize or you do not understand what we are asking for, do not worry! Send us an email or we will assist you during the first meeting! Just remember that the more information we gather from you, the better our understanding of your vision of your website!

Stage 1
Assessment and Planning
At this stage we will establish the goals to achieve on the site, we will listen to your expectations and needs and advice you so we can recommend an optimal solution.
First of all we need to establish a name for the website and secure your desired domain. If you have not done so, please make sure you have a few domain names in mind. We will register your domain in your name with your information and you will be the only registrant contact on file.
Then, after analyzing your needs, we will help you determine if any special requirements is involved such as blogs, contact forms, e-commerce, content management, etc.
At this stage we analyze the image that we’ll give to the site. If you already have any suggestions (similar sites, images, etc) we will include ideas and examples related and based on that, we’ll present our proposal.
Finally we will focus on the structure and content of the site, determining which sections include and help you in providing us with the correct texts for each section.
This is what we need from you:
- Domain name
- Map of the website with links
- Text content for each link
- Images
- Required functionalities/interactivities
- Colors and combination of colors
- Logo/Corporate Image (if you already have one or create a new one)
After putting together all the requested information we will develop an estimate cost and timeframe for the project. Once we have come to an agreement on project deliverables, timeframe and price, we will prepare a contract for you to review, sign and send back with your deposit of 50% of the total cost. The remaining of your balance will be due upon project completion.
Stage 2
Graphic Design
Once we gathered the information requested in stage 1 and after 5 business days, we will generate a customized model of your website’s home page in the form of a static photo and send it to you via email. After you receive the customized model we will contact you to schedule a second meeting to go over the details of the model.
In this second meeting we will mostly discuss the aesthetics of the website and the functionality of its interactivities (contact forms, blogs, e-commerce, etc). For E-Commerce sites that require us to enter products for you, we will need you to provide us with a completed version of the Excel file attached to this email.
Upon completion of the second meeting we will transfer the information colleted to our web designers. We will continue to make modifications to the design until the final desired look is achieved. Once the desired look is achieved, we will create the interior page layout.
This stage generally lasts between 5 to 7 business days.
Stage 3
Programming
At this point we will engage in the coding stage of the website development. This stage consists of transferring the design to HTML or Flash, programming the animations (i.e. animations for navigation links, drop down menus, logos, products, etc), and developing the interactivities such as contact forms, e-Commerce, etc.
During this stage we will perform regular uploads of the project to a temporary website that we will assign to you. You will be able to verify the current status of the project by accessing this temporary website through the internet.
This stage generally lasts between 10 and 15 business days.
Stage 4
Test and Launch
In this stage we will run a few tests such as browser compatibility, grammar & spell check and search engine readiness. We will also have you supervise the final version of the website and once approved it will be uploaded to the hosting. Final payment will be due before we take the website live on your domain. |
